Overview

According to the STOP THE BLEED campaign, the average bleed-out time is 2-5 minutes. While the average EMS response time is 7-10 minutes.  It's statistics like these that drive us here at PBA.  The Premier Body Armor Bleed Control kit was intentionally designed to be the perfect companion to one of our Backpack Inserts or Vests.  The armor is designed to stop gunshots to the torso (cardiac box), whereas the Bleed Control Kit is designed to stop bleeding from the extremities, giving the users the much-needed time to be treated at a hospital.  The foundation of the kit is the S.T.A.T. Tourniquet, both simple and intuitive to use due to its "ZipTie" design.  This pack is small enough to fit in your pants pocket but would make an ideal addition to any everyday carry bag, backpack, purse, or glovebox.

*Please note: As a medical product, once opened, bleed kits are no longer eligible for return

Perfect Packaged Kit

I was on of the winners of PBA's recent giveaway and I am very grateful for that. Within the prize package was PBA's bleeding control kit. Now, normally, I would give a review based on actual use of the products contained within but in this case I'll have to base my review on just the quality of the contents because I don't want to bust open an EMERGENCY kit just because. I've had a combined 30+ years of experience in bleeding control between my time in the USAF and as a career firefighter/EMT of 25 years and I've seen a lot of gadgets and gizmos in that time that claim to make things easier. Some items do and but most items are simply over engineered things that already are proven to work. IN the case of PBA's kit they did a great job of putting together things that work. You really can't go wrong with any of the items. The S.T.A.T. X-Force TQ is of of those new items I mentioned earlier. I was able to get my hands on one prior to this review and I have to say....it works. It's super simple to apply and even easier to take off and I do like the fact that the TQ can be eased off and turned into a compression dressing. That's pretty ingenious. The tabs are nice and big and easy to manipulate even with gloves on and the ratcheting system is probably as good if not better than a windlass in some cases. And a TQ with a timer?!!! WHAT THE?!! Yeah, pretty smart. Putting all of this into a small package that can easily fit into a glove box (where mine sits), a Go Bag, or as part of a home kit is a win.
