Bulletproof Underwear

May 23, 2023

More than a Joke, a Showcase of Innovation

Have you ever heard of bulletproof underwear? Yes, you read it right. Our collaboration with Kentucky Ballistics on YouTube brought this unique product idea to life. The bulletproof underwear, while originally conceived as a humorous concept, has become a testament to the innovation, craftsmanship, and capability that our company is proud to demonstrate.

To see the bulletproof underwear in action, watch the video below:

The Unconventional Test

In the video, the bulletproof underwear was put through an impressive series of tests. It wasn't worn by anyone during these tests, though Kentucky Ballistics did model a pair throughout the video. Instead, it was placed on a lower torso dummy. Each round that was fired was captured in slow-motion, adding an extra layer of awe to the demonstration.

The underwear, rated to NIJ Level IIIA, was shot with various calibers. These included a .22, a 5.7, 9mm FMJ, 357 Sig, .45 ACP, 10mm, 50 GI, and a 44 Magnum. The underwear stopped all of these rounds. As Kentucky Ballistics pointed out, while the force of the round would still be felt, the key point is that you "wouldn't have another hole" from these rounds.

Kentucky Ballistics then decided to push the boundaries, stating, "let's see if they can do some things they aren't rated to do". The underwear was then shot with a 500 Magnum round. It didn't stop this round, but it wasn't rated to. However, when shot with a 12-gauge shotgun, the underwear held up. Though, it was pointed out that, "you'd definitely know someone shot you with a 12-gauge shotgun".

The video ended with the underwear being shot with a rifle. We all knew it wasn't rated to stop rifle rounds, but this was all in good fun and part of the entertaining experience provided by Kentucky Ballistics.

The Message Behind the Fun

While the bulletproof underwear began as a joke, it ended up being an unconventional but effective way to showcase the innovative capabilities of our company's products. Each shot fired at the underwear demonstrated the incredible resilience and protective power our products can provide.

Though we don't currently sell bulletproof underwear, we hope this fun experiment shows our commitment to innovation and quality in all our products. If our prototype underwear can stop a 12-gauge shotgun round, imagine the peace of mind our real body armor products can provide!
