The Thermophysiological response to wearing body armor in the line of duty has been the subject of numerous studies. These studies, in short, show that body armor (particularly aramids) is highly insulative and that a vest made of these materials limits the human body's natural ability to self-regulate skin temperature on the chest and back. This can lead to heat rash, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and in rare cases heat stroke.
At Premier Body Armor, we believe that we have found a solution. One that is affordable, requires no batteries or wires, adds zero noticeable weight or thickness, and can be retrofitted to any ballistic vest or plate.
Premier Body Armor is proud to be the sole distributor for Eclipsys™ in the armor industry. This adaptive thermal regulation technology was developed by Alexium International Group Limited. Eclipsys™ offers unsurpassed comfort and moisture management by continually funneling heat away from the human body. Adaptive response means the hotter a human body is, the greater the effect.
I wear my Everyday Armor Shirt when I go to the range, malls or anywhere there is a large public gathering. I've enjoyed knowing I have that added protection. Since I live in South GA it gets hot. I purchased the Eclipsys for my Everyday Armor not knowing how well it would work. I'm impressed. Wearing this, there is a definite difference than being without it. If you are going to invest in your safety you might as well invest in your comfort too.
Recently purchased the add on for my BA vest. To say that it was almost a game changer would not be doing it justice. I wore this over the course of my shift ( 10 hrs )and felt as fresh as when l put it on in the Department.
I cannot recommend this product enough. It is by far one of the best advancement in thermal management for law enforcement to have happened in the past decade.
Well done Premier.
While this doesn't actively cool you it does do something. I used to take my vest off at the end of the day and my shirt was drenched. Now with this attached to my vest my undershirt is dry. This is definitely a luxury not a necessity but if you have the extra money you can get extra comfort.
