    Is body armor legal?

    Body armor is legal to own in all 50 states (but we can not ship it to the state of Connecticut or New York).

    What if I'm between sizes? Or on the border for the next size up?

    This carrier is one size fits most. 

    Does the Fortis Alpha Carrier have side protection?

    The carrier alone does not provide any ballistic protection.

    Where do I put the rifle-rated plates?

    There is a pocket at the bottom of the front and back of the vest to insert your plates.

    Can I wash my vest?

    The outer carrier is machine washable. Simply remove any plates, then we recommend washing the carrier on gentle. Lay the carrier flat to dry.

    First time buyer...won't be the last!

    I was a little hesitant to purchase my first set of plates and carrier, as I expected them to be quite expensive. I was very happy to find that Premier Body Armor provided excellent protection at a very affordable price. I've done a lot of research on plates and carriers, and Premier consistently receives high marks for their quality and affordability. I was so happy with my carrier, that I immediately purchased the shirt and backpack. I eventually plan to purchase carriers and plates for my entire family.

    The multi curve feature of this plate is very nice, and having such a light weight plate at level III+ is outstanding! They are an inch thick, which is very tight for some plate carriers, but not a very big deal considering the affordable price tag!
    Would definitely recommend.

    Fortis Level III+ Loadout One Size Does Fit Most

    This is a good setup for larger individuals who feel the need to purchase protection sooner rather than later.

    I stand 6'1" inches and weigh in at 300lbs, down from 350lbs.
    I mentioned my past weight because, using my chest measurements from that time and the adjustment straps, this rig would have worked out for me at a heavier weight.

    As I continue to lose weight, this rig will continue to work for me, thanks to the adjustable straps, and will provide the protection I'm looking for until I can get down further into something else.

    My setup, or loadout, consisting of a Fortis MAAP pouch, a trauma kit, and three AR-style magazines, comes in at just under 16 pounds, which is manageable.

    Fortis III+/RF1

    I picked up one of these to look at about a year ago in a local gun shop and couldn’t believe the weight so I finally bought a set. I am 70 years old and the steel plates I had got to be to much weight. I know a lot of people don’t like them because they don’t stop some 5.56 rounds but for me I decided that the weight savings and increased mobility was worth it.I put them in a Agilite K19 plate carrier and at first I didn’t think they were going to fit but I got them in. I mention this because they may not fit in some. It could just be my particular vest though.

    Received my Fortis III+ RF1/multi curve plates, very fast shipping, very light plates... probably the lightest III+ stand alone plates on the market as far as I have seen. One had a small blem on the side but overall nice plates, good quality. Very tight fit in my Chase Tactical carrier... slid right in the Condor Cyclone. Measured dead on 10x12. All in all very pleased with the purchase.

    Fortis III+/RF1 Plates

    I was looking for plates lighter than AR550 with similar protection. I have had these for several weeks now and wore them several times for four to five hours each time. I immediately noticed the reduction in weight and reduced fatigue. I trained this weekend with both primary and secondary weapons while wearing these in my carrier. I found I was able to maneuver much easier and faster than with steel. I was concerned the thickness would be an issue, but that was not the case. These plates will protect against M193 though not M855, but I find the weight reduction does justify the use of them. Due to the affordability and reduced weight, I would recommend trying a set of these.

    This is my second set of these plates, and I am now covered for two separate locations without the hassle of transporting vest with other gear back and forth.     Lightweight quality 3+ armor

    Love these plates. Built with attention to detail and the comfort is amazing.     Great armor for the money

    These plates are light wait, comfortable, and have a practical application. They are a little on the thicker side of plates, but offer the best bang for your buck. Great for prepared citizens, Tacmed, SWAT, or first responders.

    Price point and protection level and quality could not be matched no matter where I looked. Add the longevity of PBA for another plus.
    I was concerned that the 1.1” thickness wouldn’t fit in my ferroconcepts slickster.
    But it did, albeit snug, it fit and is secure.

    They are made with the customer in mind ? I’m 6 ft 185 lbs my wife is 5.7 and 130 lbs and we both feel very comfortable in them! Easy to install accessories on them! Well a little work involved but that’s ok!
