Does the insert fit both the Ready Pack and the Ready Pack X?

Yes. This custom panel (BPP-9152.1) is cut for both the original Ready Pack and the Ready Pack X.

Where exactly do I place the insert?

Slide it into the hidden armor compartment of the Ready Pack X. This keeps weight close to your back and leaves the laptop sleeve and admin areas free.

Is the armor rifle-rated?

No. The insert is Level IIIA / HG2, handgun-rated and tested to meet NIJ ballistic standards. It stops most common handgun rounds. If you're looking for rifle-rated backpack armor, check out our Universal Fit Level III+ Backpack Insert.

How much weight does the insert add?

About 1.5 lb. The panel is only 0.22" thick, so it won’t noticeably change how the pack carries.

Is the insert TSA-approved and made in the USA?

Yes. It’s TSA-approved for travel, made in the USA, and Berry Amendment compliant.

Does the insert have a warranty?

Yes. The backpack insert includes a 5-year warranty.

Is it stab-proof?

While ballistic fibers naturally offer some resistance to stabs and slashes, this insert is not formally tested or rated for stab protection (NIJ 0115.00).

Can I still run a holster in the CCW compartment and carry a laptop?

Yes. The insert rides in the hidden armor compartment, so the CCW area and 15" laptop sleeve remain fully usable.
