This spall liner is designed for use with steel body armor plates to help manage bullet fragmentation after impact. While the liner does not provide standalone ballistic protection and does not change the armor rating of the plate, it is built to aid in capturing or reducing the movement of spall created when a projectile strikes steel armor.
Constructed from a specialized blend of aramid fibers, the liner is intended to be worn in front of the steel plate, facing the strike side, as part of a properly configured steel armor setup. For users running steel rifle plates, a spall liner adds an additional layer of fragment-management material without replacing the ballistic protection provided by the plate itself.
Direction for use: Place the spall liner in front of the steel plate in your plate carrier.

This liner is super lightweight almost doesn’t add to the overall weight of the armor plates!!!!
I purchased two of these spall liners for use with the Durus 650 level 3+ plates. They seem to fit well with the Durus multi curve 10x12 plates. I am using them with a HRT RAC plate carrier and they all fit very well. I also like that they can be used as trauma pads in the event that I upgrade to lighter weight composite plates in the future.

I think that along with the rubber type coating this should eliminate the spall problem. It's thicker and more robust than I expected. I can't afford to waste money testing plate setups like I used to, but I feel pretty safe in my rig now
Knowing that the spalling with be stopped as well is a good piece of mind

The spall liner arrived quickly and seems to be very good quality. Light weight but also surprisingly dense. The lamination are all perfectly even and tight. I hope to never need the product, though after watching test and seeing the product first hand, I believe it would do its job well, should it need to.

I've got a set of ar500 steel plates but wanted something to catch fragments. I think is the perfect solution. Well made and I recommend if you have steel get these to capture bullet fragments.

The quality of this product exceedingly surpassed my expectations. Sturdy construction and fit well in my plate carrier. I will definitely be buy more products from premier body armor in the future.
These liners are made from Kevlar as stated on the item tag. It is just another added layer of protection if you use steel or any plates for that matter. Premier please update item specs for this item I almost did not buy due to the lack of info... The item says it is rated for the level indicated on tag but there is no level listed (it may be because it isn't rated for a level but only spall). If you are debating between this liner and other companies armor "sleeve" I would highly recommend this liner. I will be buying more in the near future. Please make in other armor sizes like 8X10, 11X14, 9x9, 6x8 and 6x6.
